The problem

Five tools, and the case file is in none of them

Every firm we meet is running the same five systems that don't talk to each other. Here is what changes when they become one.

  • The enquiry is in an inbox, the matter is in a spreadsheet, and the time is on a notepad.

LogUncleOne record carries the whole thing, from first enquiry to final invoice.

  • Client money lives in a second spreadsheet that nobody reconciles.

LogUncleA trust ledger where the balance is the sum of its rows, so it cannot drift.

  • The same client details get re-typed into every letter that goes out.

LogUncleTemplates with merge fields, rendered and filed to the record in seconds.

  • Someone has to chase the team for what's due this week.

LogUncleA workflow creates the task and sends the reminder before the deadline.

  • Nobody can say which lead sources actually turn into paid work.

LogUncleOpen leads, pipeline value, win rate and won value, on the page you already open.

The platform

Fifteen modules that already know about each other

A lead becomes a contact, becomes a matter, becomes time, becomes an invoice — without anyone re-typing it. Explore the map.

  • Dashboard

The firm's numbers on opening: AR, WIP, realization and what needs you today.

  • Tasks

Everything you and the firm are working on — stages, tags and saved views.

  • Calendar

Hearings, deadlines and appointments, across as many calendars as you keep.

  • Leads

Potential clients, from first contact to instruction.

  • Contacts

Everyone your firm deals with, in one address book.

  • Matters

Your firm's open and closed work, in whichever view answers the question.

  • Files

Every document the firm keeps, organised into folders you can browse and share.

  • Time

Recorded time across the firm — entries, billable hours and value at current rates.

  • Reports

Build reports across your firm's data — matters, leads, contacts, tasks and time.

  • Marketing

Build contact lists from filters, then send and track email campaigns.

  • Billing

    Invoices, payments and trust.

  • Workflows

When this happens, do that — without anyone having to remember.

  • Forms

Build embeddable forms that turn website visitors into leads, contacts and matters.

  • Customizations

Shape the records and documents this firm works with.

  • Settings

Configure this workspace — users, roles, pipelines and vocabulary.

Leads

Potential clients, from first contact to instruction

Work every enquiry on an intake pipeline, or switch the same leads to a list or an analytics view. Open leads, pipeline value, win rate and won value sit across the top, and anything drifting is flagged as going cold before you lose it.

  • Pipeline, list and analytics views of the same leads
  • Open leads, pipeline value, win rate and won value at a glance
  • Leads going cold flagged stage by stage
  • Sources and practice areas tagged on every card

Matters

Your firm's open and closed work

Every matter carries its client, its stage and its owner, in whichever view suits the question — list, board, pipeline or status. Limitation dates falling inside thirty days are counted for you at the top of the page.

Time & billing

Invoices, payments and trust

Time recorded across the firm becomes invoice lines without re-keying — entries, billable hours and value at current rates, all against a matter and a timekeeper. Invoices move through draft, approval, sent and paid, and client funds stay in their own ledger.

Workflows

When this happens, do that

Workflows watch your records and act — chasing a lead that's gone quiet, filing a client care letter when a matter opens, flagging a limitation date before it arrives. Two decisions to start one; the rest happens in the builder.

  • Runs on leads, matters or tasks — chosen once, up front
  • Starter workflows for closing a matter and limitation dates
  • Draft it, then publish a version
  • See how many records are enrolled, and how many have run

Turn website visitors into leads, contacts and matters

Build an embeddable form, decide what a submission creates, and publish it. Copy the public link or the embed into your own site, and watch the submissions land as records — not as another email to re-type.

Automation

When this happens, do that

Say it out loud and you have already written it. Pick what starts the workflow — an event, a filter, a schedule, or your own hand — then add steps from a palette of fourteen. Conditions read the way a solicitor talks: is, is empty, was within the last 30 days.

Chase a lead gone quiet, file a care letter, flag a limitation date — all shipped ready to use.

Pick what it runs on once — leads, matters or tasks — then write every condition against that record.

Keep it a draft until you publish a version, and see how many records are enrolled.

Client consultations, without a third app

Video rooms are built in. Send a link, admit who arrives, and take your notes beside the call — on the matter, where they belong. Nothing for the client to install.

Video goes browser to browser; the app carries only the handshake.

The host admits each guest from a lobby before they see the room.

Built for a consultation, not a conference — small groups by design.

Security & trust

Built for work that has to be accountable

A legal file has to answer for itself years later. These are the mechanisms that let it — not policies, but things the product actually does.

  • Roles, not blanket access

Settings keeps Users and Roles side by side, and every module is gated on a named permission. A role that can't view billing doesn't see billing — the navigation itself changes.

  • A history on every record

Who changed which field, from what, to what, and when. The audit answer is on the record, not in a log file someone has to go and find.

  • Deletions leave a mark

Customizations keeps a Deleted records log, because a deleted matter is the one nobody can go and look at. The deletion is recorded separately from the record it removed.

  • Client money kept apart

Client funds sit behind their own button in Billing, as their own ledgers. Every movement is a row and the balance is their sum, so it cannot drift from its own history.

  • Workflows you can audit

Published workflows are versioned, and each enrolled record records which version it ran. "Why did this client get that email?" has an answer.

  • Your firm, your workspace

Each firm gets its own workspace address and its own data, with the currency and number format it actually works in. Cloud-hosted, encrypted in transit, and yours.

Questions

The things firms ask us first

That's what the Customizations section is for. Add your own fields to any record, build document and email templates with merge fields, save the views your team actually uses, and rename "task" to whatever your firm calls it. The shape of the product bends to the practice, not the other way round.

You build roles, and each role carries granular permissions per module — view billing, manage workflows, manage documents, and so on. The sidebar is gated on the same permissions, so someone without billing access doesn't see a billing section they can't open.

It goes in its own ledger, separate from your fees. Trust and credit balances are held as transaction rows, and the balance is their sum rather than a stored figure — so it can't quietly disagree with its own history. When you're ready to bill, trust can be applied directly to an invoice.

No. Workflows are built on a canvas: pick a trigger (an event, a filter, a schedule, or run it by hand), then add steps from a palette of fourteen. Conditions read in plain English — "is", "is empty", "was within the last 30 days". You save a draft, publish a version, and can see exactly which records are enrolled.

Yes. Build a form by dragging fields onto a canvas and map each one to a field on the record. Publish it as a public link or embed it in your own website, and a submission arrives as a lead — optionally starting a workflow the moment it lands. You can also email a form to an existing client to collect what's missing.

Three of them, and they cover the questions that matter. Each record keeps a history of who changed which field and when. Deletions are recorded separately, because a deleted record can't hold its own history. And every workflow run is tied to the published version it executed.
